...the distinctive landscape of the Okiritoto Stream, Muriwai Beach to the south of the stream, the golf course, the Woodhill block and Muriwai village has been called the Muriwai Beach Landscape Area, and is the main focus of our study. Muriwai beach is a case study geographic environment used by many NCEA Level 3 Geography students. This field guide will help them understand the nature of that environment, the operation, interaction and spatial variation of natural processes and the impact of human modifications on them. In the process, students will develop skills, ideas, and approaches to fieldwork and research. A water-resistant cover ensures this guide survives the experience.
